An all-in-one app that keeps JP Dance Company’s students, parents, and teachers informed, engaged, and rewarded.

Project Overview
A growing dance school runs on communication, and most of it still happens in scattered chats and paper notices. JP Dance Company wanted one place for all of it, so we built a dance studio app that serves the whole community: students checking their next class, parents following their child’s dance journey, teachers reaching their groups, and admins running it all.
The app puts schedules, news, and events one tap away, and adds something schools rarely have: a gamified reward system that turns showing up into points and points into branded merch. Whether someone is a guest browsing program updates or a registered parent managing a busy week, the experience adapts to who they are.
Key Features
Role-based experience for students, parents, teachers, and admins, each seeing what matters to them.
Group push notifications that reach exactly the right dance school or parent group in real time.
Points-and-rewards system: collect points and redeem them for JP-branded merchandise.
In-app merch store where items can be bought with money, points, or a mix of both.
Personal schedules plus company-wide calendars, always current.
Built-in map navigation to every studio location.
News and events in a clean, scrollable feed.
Admin dashboard for managing users, roles, and notifications.
Firebase: authentication, Firestore database, and Cloud Functions behind every feature.
Push notifications: targeting by role and by school group.
Google Maps API: location pins and one-tap navigation to the studios.
Challenges & Solutions
The defining challenge of any dance studio app is that four very different people open the same product. A student, a parent, a teacher, and an admin each need their own view, with data privacy and access control holding firm between them. We solved it with a role-based UI system that adapts the whole interface to the signed-in user instead of hiding buttons one by one.
The second challenge was precision messaging. A notice for one school’s parent group must never spam the entire company. Group-based notifications required custom Firebase logic and dynamic filtering, built with FlutterFlow’s advanced logic tools on top of a flexible user data structure, so every message lands only where it belongs.
Development Time
Five weeks from initial concept to App Store launch.
Impact or Outcome
The app is live on the App Store and actively used by JP Dance Company. Communication with parents has improved, and the reward system keeps students engaged between classes. Based on user feedback, the company is already planning additional features and updates.
My Role & Value
We owned the full cycle: UI/UX design, development, and App Store deployment, with Firebase set up for scalable performance from day one. The value was a fast, disciplined turnaround: a polished, user-friendly app tailored to the real needs of a modern dance school, shipped in five weeks.
