A family of themed learning games that turns screen time into skill-building play for kids under six.
1 / 3
Project Overview
Parents want screen time that gives something back. We built a family of toddler learning games for exactly that: short, colorful mini-games that grow memory, logic, and coordination in children under six, with no reading required to play.
Instead of one app trying to please every child, the series ships as themed editions: cars, dinosaurs, dogs, cats, dolphins, even dragons. Each one wraps the same proven learning core in a world a particular child already loves, which keeps attention long and is a big part of why retention stays high.
The result is a suite of educational games for kids that parents trust and toddlers keep asking for.
Key Features
Sound and matching games: kids tap, hear a real sound, and match it to the right picture.
Memory and puzzle challenges: difficulty rises step by step to stretch attention span.
Early learning mini-games: shapes, colors, numbers, and logic woven into play.
Coloring pages: printable line art in every theme, from race cars to dinosaurs.
Leaderboards: best-score boards that pull older siblings into the fun too.
Themed editions, from cars and race cars to dinosaurs, dolphins, and dragons.
Calm mode for parents: a one-time purchase removes every ad.
Built for small hands: big buttons and intuitive navigation, no reading needed.
Tech Stack & Integrations
FlutterFlow: powers the current generation, one codebase for iOS and Android.
Unity: built the first generation, before the series moved to FlutterFlow.
Firebase: the backend for everything from game content to best scores.
AdMob and native in-app purchases: the free-with-ads model plus the ad-free upgrade.
Challenges & Solutions
Running a large family of games on one backend made database efficiency the number one cost and performance question. Firestore charges per read, and a toddler happily tapping through mini-games generates a lot of them. We solved it with batched reads and caching, cutting reads to a minimum while keeping real-time updates intact.
The other challenge was generational. The series started in Unity, where every new themed variant was slow to produce. Rebuilding the core in FlutterFlow turned each new edition into a fast, repeatable production step instead of a fresh project.
Development Time
Four weeks from first idea to public launch, including prototyping, testing, optimization, and publishing on both stores.
Impact or Outcome
The flagship title has passed 1 million downloads, several other titles in the family sit at 100K+ and 500K+ downloads, and the series brings in 600 to 1000 organic installs every day. Retention is high, and reviews from parents worldwide stay positive.
My Role & Value
We owned the whole cycle: market research, UI/UX design tuned to toddler motor skills, development, store deployment, and the monetization setup. The value was speed with discipline: a four-week launch, a backend tuned to stay cheap at scale, and a design system that turns one game into a whole family of them.
